The event
Co(u)ltura Conegliano Valdobbiadene is the first Festival of Wine Literature, an entertaining and informative occa¬sion which, thanks to the featured books, authors and tastings, will open wide the doors of the world of wine.
Wine is an integral part of our culture. For the philosopher Roger Scruton, it represents the essence of western civilisation, an age-old beverage whose quality has been raised as a result of study, experimentation and research.
The cultivation of vines has moulded landscapes, created local cultures, defined communities and projected Italy’s image around the world.
During Co(u)ltura Conegliano Valdobbiadene, you will be welcomed in the splendid Castle of San Salvatore at Susegana, in a space that is ideal for gaining a deeper knowledge of the numerous aspects that the world of wine offers its enthusiasts.
The books and the authors, coordinated by the Editor of “Civiltà del Bere” Alessandro Torcoli together with the producers of Conegliano Valdobbiadene, aim to demonstrate that wine is not only a product to be drunk, but also an expression of culture in a broader sense, involving passion, exertion, joy and shared experiences.
The two days of the event, Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th May, will feature a programme that includes:
- Meetings with authors of wine-related publications
- Walk-Around Tastings with the producers of Conegliano Valdobbiadene
- Themed Masterclass tastings
Entrance to the Castle of San Salvatore and to the meetings with the authors is free, subject to availability.
The authors’ works are available for purchase in the Co(u)ltura Conegliano Valdobbiadene bookshop, curated by the Canova bookstore in Conegliano.
